5 Gifts To Bring Your Holiday Party Hosts

Did You Know?  “On Friday, Meredith Corp. announced an agreement to sell ‘Fortune’ media brand for $150 million in cash to Thai tycoon Chatchaval Jiaravanon…  Jiaravanon joins a small group of wealthy foreign investors who now own or have stakes in U.S. media titles. Axel Springer, of which German billionaire heiress Friede Springer owns about 43%, bought Business Insider in 2015 for $450 million.” (via)

WOOT WOOT! Holiday times are right around the corner & this year I’m ready for it! I already have my tickets to the Nutcracker Ballet scheduled.  If that doesn’t mean festive, I don’t know what does.    If you’ve been following me, you know there have been plenty of years that I let the holiday season pass by me, not this time!  Lez go.

A few notes, gifting.  Working in real estate, Wafiq and I have gotten pretty good at gifting for families.  We try to do it often for clients, friends turned clients, and friends in general.  Once we got in the swing of giving home gifts we kinda went with it.

This took awhile for me to get down.  I like to give gifts that aren’t cheesy, a total waste, or anything that’s going to simply take up space.  Very not my style to have or give anything with no function.  Less is more, remember? I have a few gifts, different price points,  that have worked over & over again.

When you go to someone’s house for a holiday party, or any gathering, consider bringing a little extra treat for the host.  Hosting takes a lot of time & monies.  No matter how much a host might enjoy putting together a gathering for people, I almost guarantee they wouldn’t mind a tiny gift of appreciation.  It shows you understand the work someone put into having a gathering & you’re thoughtful of that.  Even small or routine gatherings you might overlook… they all take work to be thoughtful of!

5 Gifts To Bring Your Holiday Party Hosts

5-Housewarming-Gifts-for-Holiday-Hosts

1:: Thank You card:  The most affordable gift on this list ladies & gentleman! A thank you card!  My family grew up giving cards for everything & that’s something I continue doing.  Wafiq does it too, and I think Bernice would if she was able.  A handwritten card can do more than you think, especially if there’s some thought attached to it.  Include a card with your gift or bring a little card alone, but you can’t go wrong with a thank you card.  Keep a few blank cards at your house so you can quickly grab one when you’re headed out the door.

2:: Frey Vineyards Organic Wine:  Bottles of wine are a very traditional gift to bring your hosts, and for good reason.  Everyone loves a good bottle of wine.  Even if the host isn’t drinking it, they can enjoy it the next day when everyone drank their stash, OR they can provide it that night when their stash runs out?  You really can’t go wrong with this.  BUT, if you need somewhere to start, meaning you’re not a wine drinker, consider getting an organic wine without added sulfites – the thing that makes a hangover worse.  You might have to go to Whole Foods or a wine store, but it’s worth it.  (Try this: here)

3::  Diptyque Candle in “Baies”:  An expensive AF candle.  What a fantastic idea.  Few people will buy themselves an expensive candle, but that doesn’t mean their home won’t get excited when you walk in w one.  Diptique & I have gotten really close.  My bff at the Nordstrom candle counter used to work specifically for the Diptyque brand.  We’re friends now & she’s given me all the history + 101 of the brand. Their products & packaging prints are greatly influenced by travel.  The perfumes are not meant to be specifically for a man or woman, but either. I’ve always loved this idea with perfume, something about that idea has always made sense to me.  Diptyque is a really cool, unique brand to get familiar with, especially for gift giving.

4::  Google Home:  You may have to do a little research on this one to make sure the person you’re gifting doesn’t already have a Google Home or Alexa but if they don’t – buy them one!  If they already have one, consider getting them another one they can program in a different room.  Make sure you stick to the system they already have, Google or Alexa!  Another great tech gift is a Roku or Amazon Firestick.  You’d be surprised how often we give these out & how happy people are.

5::  Barefoot Dreams Throw:  A blanket is a great gift for the home because it’s something that most homes can’t have enough of.  Especially a good quality, soft, new one.  This blanket, in particular, can fold small enough where it’s not a nuisance but is also soft & comfortable enough to have in your main living area for any guests.  It’s also not a cheap blanket, so it doesn’t look like you swung by Walmart on the way over. Again, a comfy expensive blanket is something overlooked to purchase for yourself but very appreciated when given as a gift. They have this brand on major sale at Nordstrom Rack right now too – so get a few while you can for this price point! (HERE)

I wanted to limit this list to 5 ideas & keep things simple!  Buy a few of each or all of the above & give them as you go through the holiday season. Listen, I’m here for you.  Want to be a thoughtful person but don’t want to make the effort, just follow my instruction.  Step 1, next time you’re invited somewhere, even if there are only 4 other people invited – bring something. Thank you for inviting me.  Right?

Do you guys typically bring hosting gifts, or your presence is enough? Lemme know.

In other news.  I’ve made the leap into the scary series The Haunting of House Hill on Netflix.  I can’t say this was a good idea, but everyone saying how good the series would gave me FOMO.  If you want to know what the series is about, you might need to ask my brother, my eyes have been closed throughout.

Thx. Bye.

Be thoughtful!

Xx
