The Only Lip Gloss I Use

OMG how did I not share this information earlier?  A good lip gloss should never ever go undiscovered.  Since the beginning of time, lip gloss has kept faces looking alive.  I would argue dinosaurs used an Aloe plant for the same purpose.

I skipped sharing my favorite lip gloss w you guys because I’ve previously shared my favorite lipstick, assuming lipstick covered the bases, but no!  I stand corrected.  Gloss is extremely different.  One is dry, one is wet.  One is matte, one is shiny.  One is specific, one is carefree.  Lip gloss is an important part of the equation, especially for people who share its vibration.

Before I get into that, you may have noticed I’m on a “clean beauty” kick.  I’ve always tried to pay attention to clean ingredients in my beauty products but I’ve never put in actual effort to change out what I currently have.  Now, I’m trying.  I was going to share a few other favorite products w you, but decided against it.  They’re not “clean” & I likely won’t be buying them again… so why should I recommend them to you guys?  I’m not going to do that anymore, because I love you.

If humans start buying {the very easy to find} cleaner products for our bodies & faces it’ll force all the mega companies to start thinking a little more about their ingredients list.  And I like having that power as a people.  You know?  Maybe skip poising the human population when possible?

I’m not perfect, but I can make a little effort in the right direction.

OK! LIP GLOSS!

Beautycounter lip gloss is the shit.  I promise I don’t work for Beautycounter, it was just a good starting place to purchase a few clean beauty products.  I’ve had the “Poppy Shimmer” lip gloss for a few years now (HERE), but recently bought a few shades of NUDE because I was so obsessed w the gloss staying power I had to try more.

Generally speaking, when picking a lip gloss I prefer a nude. With a vibrant COLOR lip gloss, it tends to look patchy unless there’s lipstick underneath.  (That’s why God created lipstick.)  So, if you’re a beginner w gloss, go for a nude or natural color so you don’t have to worry about getting even color.  Nude will give you the perfect, awake looking, shine -without the drama.  A nude gloss is especially unique because you can use it on bare lips OR on top of any lipstick color.

Try These:

Bare Shimmer – for a pretty light pink nude

Buff – for what I consider a true nude shine without shimmer, if that’s not your thing

Bellini – for a true nude with shimmer, which I personally love for the extra shine

I have a lot of lip glosses you guys.  A lot.  Don’t we all?  Somehow they collect in my makeup drawer & never go away.  I know why, most of them suck.  Let’s be honest with each other, we keep buying new glosses because our current ones aren’t filling the void of wet looking lips.

Beautycounter lip gloss will fill that void.  The gloss has a minty fresh feeling that immediately gets you off on the right foot w the product, (great first impression, you know what I mean?).  It applies a little thicker, rather than watery, which I love because it makes me believe it’s going to stay – and it does.   This gloss has major lasting power.  It barely comes off when you eat, unless you’re literally wiping it away with a napkin or a piece of lettuce.

The lasting power is my most impressive take away with the Beautycounter gloss, but it also leaves a moisturizing effect that’s hard to ignore.  Almost a feeling similar to chapstick, which I’m obsessed with.  Dream come true anyone?  Fantastic gloss, leaves a wet look, while super moisturizing?  The minty fresh scent doesn’t make you feel like you’re wearing poison, and the ingredients are better than what you’ll find w your regular glosses from Target.  Again, these lip glosses are the shit.

NOW, I know Beautycounter lip glosses aren’t the most affordable on the market, it pains me to recommend anything expensive.  Truly.  I feel a little more at ease knowing it’s a superstar product I know you’ll love having AND it doesn’t have ingredients that will murder you in your sleep.  Also, I can apply gloss once in the morning & it’ll last until the afternoon.  I’m not reapplying it all day, using more product, needing to go buy more in one week.  I’ve had all my colors for a long time now & haven’t ran out!  With the safe ingredients list, lasting power, moisturizing effect, and beautiful colors – I definitely think they’re worth the investment.  I wouldn’t say that if I didn’t love them, because I also love having money. 🙂

Keep an eye out for sales & discounts at Beautycounter, they’re a great time to pounce on products you’ve been wanting to try at a more affordable price.

I know the title of this post is aggressive, but it’s true.  If I begin using another lip gloss I’ll be sure to share.  For now, it’s Beautycounter baby!  I’m planning on testing (& hopefully finding) more affordable, clean products but I’ll only share them when I find ones I love – stay tuned.

Now I’m off to try my new self tanners!  SO FUCKING EXCITED.  I found 2 brands that have very clean ingredients & I couldn’t be more anxious to put them on my body.  I briefly tried one last week & to say I’m impressed is an understatement. Bring on the organic bronze at home please!  So much easier than a 10 day bake in the sun vacay.

Have a great summer week everyone, i love you.  You’re doing such an incredible job, truly astonishing.

Be thoughtful

Xx
