Summer Pool Parties & BBQ’s; Target is HOT right now!

A couple things;  I have fallen down a long, dark path that is Target Online Shopping… AND I hate throw away plastic more in the summer than any other time of the year.

UGH.  Throw away paper plates, red solo cups, plastic forks equal the sounds of summer days at the pool & BBQ’s.  I’m NOT into it.  I can’t stand how much trash accumulates.  Because glass isn’t allowed near the pool, boats, water – plastic is the next best thing.  Enter >> paper throw away crap.

This year I figured out a quick, cute, easy way to avoid this mess.  NICE PLATES that are plastic & reusable. Dishwasher safe.  Easy.  Pretty.  All from Target.  I was UBER inspired by the Opalhouse Collection at Target recently which is what sparked this entire shopping adventure.  Opalhouse is my summer style to the T.  And incredibly more affordable than it’s pretty counterparts: Pottery Barn, CB2., ect.

I started with just plastic cups…  then went to plastic goblets, and eventually bowls, small plates, and large plates.  Might as well have it all, right?!

And you guys, I’m in love.  I want to throw out our nice plates for these plastic ones in the HOME.  The detailing, color, design – it’s all perfect.  I love how each plate/bowl matches, but doesn’t.  There’s a pink set & blue set, I did a little combo of both.  Both sets are gorgeous!  Good luck choosing one.

Key tip!  For cups, I ended up getting every color of each style, rather than all one color.  BECAUSE, another reason there’s so much wasted plastic & drink at BBQ & pools?  No one knows what cup is there’s!  They end up throwing them away, and grabbing a new one.  Ew.   So rather than getting the exact same color, I went for the exact same cup + style, just different colors. Everyone will know who’s is who’s. YES PLZ.  I love that these cups were accommodating to this option, it couldn’t be more perfect.  The set looks pretty + quality, but it’s plastic & variety.  LOOOOVEing it.

I think right now anything Opalhouse is a must for your Target shopping cart, especially the pool friendly options.  But that’s not all Target has to offer right now.  They also recently released their Hunter x Target collection, which of course I had to indulge in.  I bought a few things online, but have honestly had the best luck in store.  The inventory changes daily so don’t be sad if you missed this “sold out” collection.  Every day I’ve been in Target I find something new added to the inventory.  I think it’s a mix of returns & delivery.  So keep your eyes open because this collection is fire!  I’m soooo loving it for the summer.  I haven’t bought Hunter products before, I’m assuming the quality might not be standard Hunter (?), but I find it to be exceptional quality for the price points – if you ask me.

I know you guys absolutely do not need extra reasons to shop at Target, but the pool & BBQ friendly options from Opalhouse sounded too necessary not to share.  And everything else just seemed fitting.

Anyone else have any summer shopping hot spots?  I’m ready for this warm weather + colors + sweat to come rolling through.

OH!  Also, Wafiq & I are heading to Charlottesville & Washington DC Thursday, anyone have any MUST DO’s while we’re there? It’s a quick trip; but we’ll be in Instagram Stories 😉
