Review of 4 Clean Ingredient, Fake Tanning Products
In my humble opinion, this couldn’t come at a better time. Organic fake tanning. In July. How have I not already had my name & number all over this subject??
I mentioned on Tuesday & have been hinting at it a lot recently, I’m moving to clean products for my body & home. Once you know, it’s hard to unknow. Feel me? When I first downloaded it I wanted to ignore the results, but yesterday opened the app & scanned every product in Ulta. I only bought the ones rated 1-3. Wasn’t nearly as intimidating as I was projecting.
If you’re curious, download the app & start checking. I think the biggest bit of advice, don’t get scared or overwhelmed. When I started scanning I immediately thought “this is bullshit, nothing everyone uses is considered good”. But slowly you’ll find products that are “good” & slowly you can change out what you have. I’ll help make the introduction. 🙂
Today, I’m reviewing fake tanning products. The tanning products I was using were big question marks. Good or bad? Was I putting sketchy chemicals on my body everyday or sweet baby green aloe plant? I use tanning products often, all over my body so it freaked me out! I had a meltdown, sad to consider never being tan again. THEN, I went on the hunt. I’m SO happy to be sharing these products now, the clean ones. I feel better about suggesting you buy something when I know it’s something that isn’t going to hurt you. Because I love you.
Review – 4 Clean Beauty Fake Tanning Products
Vita Liberata pHenominal Tinted Tan Mousse: I had sky high hopes w this tanner because I love the face mask so much. This is also a brand that surprise attacked me when I found out it was organic skin care w good ingredients. Unfortunately, I was incredibly let down w the results. The product applies well like any other tanning mousse you would use, but once I showered, it felt like it ALL showered off. I don’t know if it left any tan, and if it did, not longer than a day. I highly doubt I’ll be using this again, unless I have nothing else & want to give it a second chance. Big NO.
Vita Liberata Self-Tanning Night Moisture Mask: I’m obsessed with this face mask & was in complete shock when I realized it had organic ingredients that weren’t poisoning me! Woo hoo! Those are the type of surprises I get hyper about. There’s not a significant tan pay off from the face mask, just slightly looking a little darker, HOWEVER it offered my face an incredible amount of moisture that I couldn’t ignore when I woke up in the morning. Moisture, a slight tan, & yummy ingredients? I’ll take it. Happily. Gimmie all plz.
Nkd Skn Tinted Tan Mousse: Well look at this fancy ass brand. I actually found this brand through the Think Dirty App Self Tanner ratings. Each NKD SKN product came out at a whopping ZERO. (ps. that’s the best). When I was first applying, I was a littler nervous as it appeared more orange than the tanning mousse I was used to – but stick a foot in my mouth because this mousse works surprisingly well! I showered it off after a few hours & the mousse left my skin w a pretty sun kissed tan that lasted for a week! I almost cried. Don’t think I’m kidding. I’m still dying of joy, I was able to find a product to replace my other tanning mousse?! That is the one thing I wouldn’t want to give up. The best part? It’s $20!! You guys!! $20!! No tanning mousse is $20, especially one that WORKS & has CLEAN ingredients? Consider me sold sold sold. (I would pay $100, but don’t tell them that.)
Nkd Skn Body-Bling Instant Shimmer Body Bronzer: So obviously I quickly jumped on board w the other bronzing NKD SKN products. This instant bronze is something you can rub on your legs for a night out or your shoulders on date night – for that extra glowing coverage. A tan works as a coverage for me. Slightly blends my freckles or imperfections into one smooth canvas. I like applying the Instant Bronze whenever I’m wearing an open back dress or shirt, I feel like my back needs the assistance. I also use it on my feet when I’m wearing heels! Sounds weird, but try it. A little goes a long way w this product in particular, I can’t imagine ever needing to buy another bottle. This instant bronze adds the perfect amount of subtle tan to your skin & a barely-see-it shimmer. I love it.
And there you have it! Finish up summer keeping a good {fake} tan!! Now’s the time to do it! I truly can’t explain the joy I have finding replacement products for my regular favorites. Swapping the dirty w the clean. I swear it can be done! Finding a tanning mousse felt like a hill I was never going to climb, but here I am at the top! That means there’s no excuse for dirty ingredients anymore, & as soon as we stop buying them – the companies will stop making them 🙂
