Travel Essentials: The Small but Mighty Travel Fan

Of all the exciting things I learned & experienced on my recent trip – this travel essential is surprisingly the thing I’m most excited share.  Get ready for your traveling life to be drastically improved from here on out.

I can’t believe it took me this many excruciating flights & horrible nights in hotel rooms to figure out the importance of a TRAVEL FAN.  You need this you guys, seriously.  It’s a goal of mine not to tell you what you need, because you don’t really need anything, but this travel fan is a major exception.  For a small cost, you’ll significantly improve your comfort while away from home.  If you want to jump right to the chase, no convincing required, find the fan: HERE.  Otherwise, allow me to sell it below.

3 Reasons You Need A Travel Fan

Makes Flights More Comfortable:

The original idea to purchase a travel fan came from a stale flight I was recently on.  There were no air vents above the seats we were sitting in.  Have you tried that?  Not fun.  Wafiq & I get our plane tickets to Dubai from one of Wafiqs cousin that works for the airlines,  we’re lucky enough to afford business class that way!  BUT, & this is a big but, they don’t have air vents above those seats.  Imagine?!  I almost compromised the business seat for economy just to have the ventilation.  There’s something about moving air while you’re stuck in a seat for 14 hours that’s a major game-changer, trust me.  Wafiq wasn’t willing to give up our business seats & I wasn’t willing to travel without airflow so I had to find a solution.  Enter: TRAVEL FANS.  Boy did they pay off!  We both set them up to blow air the entire flight & I PASSED. OUT. this way.  Something about having the perfect airflow on my face put me to sleep like a baby – which never ever happens when I fly.  No drugs or alcohol needed, freaking goodnight, see you when we land.

You don’t need business class to enjoy the fan.  On our smaller flight, where we were blessed with air vents, I still used the fan for a little extra air when it got stuffy.  Trust me, it makes a difference to have air as an accessory.  If you get the fan with a handle or stand, you can prop it up to keep the air flowing.  The battery life is impressive so no need to worry on a flight that’s only a few hours.

Sleeping In A Hotel Room:

Ok next.  This is MAJOR.  OMG a bonus I didn’t see coming.  HOTEL ROOMS.  I will never ever go to another hotel room without a travel fan.  Almost every single room I’ve stayed in doesn’t have a ceiling fan.  (Is that a law?  Are they worried about liability or what’s happening here?)  I believe this was the reason I HATED sleeping in any hotel.  I’ve never felt comfortable in hotels, doesn’t matter if it’s a Motel 8 or the Four Seasons Resort – hate it.  Since I had my little fan handy on this trip & it worked so well while I was flying, I thought I’d try to set it up to blow while I slept that night.  I had little expectations but figured why not.  If the fan is plugged in charging it can stay ON all night.  Woot!  Wafiq realized my intelligence level in that moment & copied me from his nightstand, with his fan.  The little sweet fans blew all night, the perfect white noise to distract us into a deep sleep.  The airflow was just right & we both slept better than we’ve ever slept before in a hotel!  YOU GUYS – this is the real deal!!  Between the perfect amount of white noise & the subtle movement of air in the room – the fans immediately paid off in more ways than one.

PS, they’are still pretty quiet & they have 3 speeds so you can choose exactly how much airflow you want.  And don’t doubt their wind power because of their small size, they’re mighty!

Access To Portable A/C In A Tight Space:

Lucky for me, I haven’t been in too many claustrophobic or super hot settings.  I actually enjoy the heat & my body sweating.  I’ve learned to embrace it & tell myself it’s naturally doing the job of a sauna, so thanks Earth.  After living in Dubai & Texas I had no choice but to accept the mounting temperatures.  Back to my point, if you’re in a tight space (literally) or a hot environment -there’s no doubt a fan will help you out.  I actually had a small fan like this at my office because it was so stale, no air movement whatsoever!  I was losing my mind every day & a fan really helped bring life into the workspace.  Not just that, but in a crowded bus or subway, traveling through tight regions or hot areas.  This fan is so small & easy to pack, plus the charge lasts forever, it’s cute, & can truly bring relief in a tight space. I mean you bring chapstick everywhere, the fan might be as important, if not more when traveling. IMO.

Fine, if you enjoy stale air you can skip this purchase.  For the rest of you, it’s a must-have.

I found a super cute handheld PINK or white fan with a strap: HERE.  Wafiq bought the white one with a stand: HERE.

I can’t explain the comfort these tiny fans brought to my nights away from home & time in the air, which I think we can all admit we need when traveling.  BFF status.  I trade Wafiq for this fan as a travel partner.  Of all the shit I cram into my carry on, I’d be good with this fan, my blanket, & my anxiety book – which I’ll talk about soon cuz it’s too incredible to slide in here at the end.

Have a great week everyone, I mean it!  Really try to have the best week you’ve had in a while, because we all deserve it.

love u

be thoughtful

Xx
