Men’s Clothing Picks – v1

I don’t know why, how, or when I became obsessed with Men’s Clothing, but it happened.  Maybe I got bored shopping for women’s?  No matter how you slice it, shopping for Men’s Clothing has become a secret passion of mine.

Don’t worry, I already thought maybe I should start a little business where I shop on behalf of Men.  They give me a budget, I help them look like a sophisticated chick magnet.  A stylist if you will.  BUT, I remembered all the jobs I had in my past & quickly decided there was a high risk I would be sexually harassed so I kicked that business avenue to the curb.  Can you imagine?  If you can’t, you’re lucky.

Wafiq hates shopping.  He doesn’t like picking out clothes, at all.  He also doesn’t really know what to buy, mostly because he doesn’t care or spend more than 17 seconds thinking about it.  When he gets dressed everyday I ask him “How did you pick those Jeans?”  ANd I already know the answer.  It’s the closest, most accessible thing he could see.  So maybe 17 seconds was a stretch.  (After YEARS of our relationship) I felt comfortable asking if I could shop for him  & when he gave me permission I went a little wild.  The problem I ran into right away, men’s clothing is hard to find.  The inspo, the “rules”, the trends, the options – where are they?  Not nearly as accessibly as women’s clothing omgomgomg.  Shit, I can find 23,986 outfits dressed for fall in all price points for a woman in under 5 minutes if I tried.  For men, it’s not that easy.

WHICH leads me here.  I wanted to start sharing what I find for Wafiq!!  Because where else is the inspo?!  I’ll give you a heads up – I literally try to push the limit of what he’ll wear.  Like I’m not finding khaki shorts, a polo and Sperry’s.  You feel me?  I dig in & see what I can talk him into.  I love a guy with STYLE.  Not the reg.  I avoid the “BRO” vibe.  I mix it up with patterns, textures, detail, color & anything else I can come up with.  Cuz, uniforms can get blah.

Taken from Tom Ford “Dressing well is a form of good manners”.  And good manners never did a man wrong.

So here we go!

Mens Clothing Picks

Men’s Clothing Picks

Old Navy Soft Wash Crew Neck Long Sleeve T-Shirt (in Panther):

Old Navy has some killer men’s clothing.  The softest, coziest, well-fitting t-shirts I’ve been able to find are from Old Navy. Wafiq has the short sleeve t-shirt but I linked the long sleeve version cuz… winter.  This shirt doesn’t shrink when you wash it, holds the color, and remains uber soft.  I’m talking luxury.  I like the Panther color as it’s a shade of grey & could easily be worn alone or layered under any sweaters! But they also have a white & black if you’re needing basic. These are GOOD. Wafiq is super lean & long, he takes a Medium.  I’m not sure how well fitting they are for larger guys, but it’s worth trying!

ASOS Religion Curved Hem t-shirt with Floral Print (in black):

I’m into graphic tee’s.  As long as the graphic is weird enough to be cool or it’s just… cool.  I like this one & I know a lot of guys could pull it off, easily.  It’s a great layering piece under hoodies & jackets with a pair of jeans.  I love it!   Also!  Ordering clothes from Asos for guys is the shit because of the fast shipping & free returns.  They don’t even have to leave the house to go shopping, essentially.

Zara Floral Print Shirt:

Here’s an option I haven’t been able to convince Wafiq of yet.  But it’s a plan in action.  I’m into the satin, oversized, button-down, laid back shirts these days.  What can I say?!  It’s like a mafia vibe that I’m oddly attracted to at the moment!  Also, love a guy who has some balls to try a few radical outfit choices.   I think I’ve seen this style most commonly appear in movies. Cut to scene – Miami club.  BUT I think there’s a place for the style on a regular weekend date night too.  I love this option because it’s a subtle version of a statement look.  I saw it in the store & it translates better in person.  No crazy color, no vibrant pattern, nothing extra since the shirt is already speaking a lot.

Harlow Classic Fit Solid Crewneck Sweater:

Alright!  Alright! Alright!  It’s approaching winter time so I know people don’t have time for my annoying warm weather suggestions.  I love crewneck anything.  For myself, for Wafiq for children, for grandparents.  It’s my preferred neckline.  I especiially love a black crewneck like this one.  So cozy, and it’ll layer & be easy for guys to quickly throw on without effort to style while looking killer.

Vans Sk8-Hi Sneaker:

Ultimately, clean, crisp & classic is the best route to go.  In my opinion, these shoes are just that.  Sneakers can get old & dirty.  New ones are important.  Looking clean, that little detail of looking clean, is beautiful.  I love theses high top Vans sneakers, I actually want them myself.  Which is why I’ve transitioned that wish onto Wafiq.  To me, these are the classic white sneakers everyone needs in their closet.  They just work with shorts in the summer or jeans in the fall.

Ummm maybe I should’ve mentioned earlier, I don’t know what I’m doing exactly.  Like I said, I couldn’t find inspo or rules or guidelines for guys so I’m winging it.  But having no rules & a guy with an afro to dress is pretty fucking fun if I do say so myself.

I don’t know if Men’s Clothing will have any interest for you, which is why I’m throwing it up on Friday.  Not trying to freak you out with Men’s stuff, throwing it in at the end of the week so in the event someone is hustling for Men’s Fashion Inspo there will a result to the search.  I’m sticking to my regular Tuesday/Thursday schedule with a little bonus post once a month on Friday.

This is kind of fun because now it’s like I’m chatting with you an extra day of the week!  FUN!

Have an excellent weekend everyone, see you next week 🙂

Xx
