Glitter, Rhinestones & Neon – My Makeup Wishlist
I’m taking major inspiration from Euphoria for these bright makeup products. Putting color on my eyes has been a thing of the past, but recently I’ve decided it’s time to get creative. Glitter, rhinestones, neons – I’m ready to play!
I’ve always loved buying new products & playing with my makeup. Majority of the time I do my makeup on a random Tuesday where I leave the house once to go to the grocery store. I just pretend I’m an actress in a new play coming to town. Dress rehearsals were today. Creating looks on my face is something I enjoy, but it’s not every day. I’ve always wanted to get creative with bright colors but haven’t seen my inspiration. The way I start with any makeup or outfit is seeing something I like, then trying to recreate it for myself. I haven’t seen any bright colors that I’ve been anxious to try, until Euphoria.
If you guys haven’t seen this show, I recommend it. Although it instills the worst type of fear as far as raising children is concerned, that fear already existed. I don’t have kids right now, so I put that anxiety on a shelf for later. Euphoria is a series with high school students that addresses every hot topic you can imagine. Most specifically, anxiety, depression, and addiction. I couldn’t be more proud to see these real issues being brought to the surface. Hopefully, they’ll continue to start more conversations regarding mental health, growing up, thoughts, and addictions.
Besides that, the creative direction of this series is INSANE. I can’t believe the cinematography, music, acting, screenplay, directing, absolutely every piece to the puzzle is exceptional. AND the makeup? I’ve died & gone to heaven. I have to play with colors now, possibly rhinestones, and maybe even glitter. I’m riding the wave of popularity with the show & can hopefully walk around with a few of these looks comfortably in the next few months. I’m obsessed.
Here are a few products to play with if you’re interested in giving them a try too! As always, I tried to keep things toxic minimal 🙂
Glitter, Rhinestones & Neon – My Makeup Wishlist:
Anastasia Beverly Hills Loose Glitter in “Crystal Cave”: I told you, bring on the glitter. Stay tuned because I’m making this happen… I imagine using only a SUPER small amount right on the pop on my eyelid.
Maia’s Mineral Galaxy Eyeliner in “White Pearl”: Need! WHITE EYELINER?! It’s all over the place these days, all my beauty “pins” are using white eyeliner & I can barely wait to get this baby in my hands – fingers crossed it leads up to my expectations. I’d use this to line my waterline, making the white of your eyes pop! But I’d also be tempted to draw on abstract eyeshadow perhaps?
BH Cosmetics Take Me Back To Brazil – Rio Edition: For any & all color inspiration needs, this is necessary & has been long-awaited. A full palette of all the bright colors of the rainbow will assist in making any look you imagine come to life!
Multi-Shape Jewels: Sooo this might not be my everyday makeup look, but it doesn’t mean I won’t have fun with it. One or two rhinestones never killed no body!
BH Cosmetics Base Booster Glitter & Shadow Glue: I had to find a makeup glue for my glitter & rhinestones, of course. This glue seems to be natural, affordable & in my online shopping cart already. Little jewels on my eyes, get ready!
Fenty Beauty Frost Bunny: Did someone say metallic? For something other than glitter, neons, or rhinestones – trying a metallic might be a good option that’ll be more versatile but still spunky.
Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip in Universal Red “Uncensored”: Ok, everyone needs a bold lip that WILL NOT move. This might not be something you wear every day, but it’s essential for your makeup bag. I swatched this color on my hand while in Sephora & it didn’t come completely off for 2 days!! Red is a staple product to own & learn to wear because it can be powerful. But I also have my eye on this “uncuffed” color to have a neutral color in my pocket.
Fenty Beauty Diamond Bomb, How Many Carats?!: I need assistance to make my skin look luminous, dewy & moisturized. I love my sweet skin, but I don’t mind giving it a helping hand, this stuff is EVERYTHING. All goals wrapped in one product. There were no questions asked, I bought on contact. If you’ve never helped yourself glow, I encourage you to try. I’ll put it on my chest, shoulders, legs, cheekbones – anywhere I want a shine! You can use a little, or a lot. And yes, it does tend to come off when you makeout so be careful.
TRENDY MAKEUP TIPS:
- Obviously, the smaller the amount the better. If you’re nervous about adding something new to your makeup routine, start small. Maybe a dot of yellow or pink to the corners? And next time you can go for a full out eyelid blend?
- Start applying & wait until the end to decide if you like it. Sometimes a look doesn’t look great until the mascara is on! All the pieces of the puzzle need to be in place before any decisions are made, trust me.
- Don’t worry about perfection, that can debilitate you from doing something fun. There have been many times I’m wearing some crazy shit on my eyes that I think is a sloppy mess & then people ask how I did it…
- Don’t be afraid to be creative & try something new. If it’s fun & you want to enjoy trying something new, then go for it! No one can take away what makes you excited.
- Confidence is key. If you’re wearing a jewel or two on your eyes, your 37 with a 2-year-old at home, who fucking cares. Show that 2-year old that you’re living your life exactly how you want to.
I’m so sad the Euphoria season is over, I heard they’re already recording for season 2, I can’t wait! I drew so much inspiration from the show & it really sparked my creative nerve. I’ve been thinking of more ways to CREATE. I’ve been trying to observe 2-year-olds to see what traits disappear as we get older. And being creative is one of them. I never claimed to be sane 🙂
Have a great week everyone!
See ya
Be thoughtful
