BASICS: Wild Rice Melody Recipe

Back to Basics with one of my favorite things – WILD RICE!  If you haven’t introduced wild rice into your diet, it’s time.  Wild Rice has a slightly nuttier flavor than traditional white or brown rice.  I realize white & brown rice gets all the attention in the rice category but take a gander to the wild side of the grocery store next time you’re there.  If you want the real deal, look for wild rice from Minnesota or Canada.

What’s In Missbassmaster’s Grocery Cart | 2018

I typically shop at Trader Joe’s, Whole Food’s, and/or an Austin favorite – Central Market.  I can’t say I don’t go to Costco on the weekends either.  Grocery Shopping is a favorite activity for me.  It’s been this way ever since I learned about food & started being more conscious of what I’m eating.  I could spend hours x hours in a grocery store reading labels & discovering new foods.  Throw in the fact that Whole Foods lets you drink wine while you shop/eat?  I was sold a loooong time ago.  Can I stay forever?

5 Yummy Baked Breakfasts From Pinterest

If you assume I prefer cooking over baking, you’re 100% correct. I’m the ultimate worst at baking.  And don’t think I haven’t tried.  Every cookie is flat, every brownie is burnt, and every cake crumbles.  Throw in the fact that I’m not a major dessert person, I leave it up to Nothing Bundt Cakes or Hu Chocolate bars & skip baking entirely.

BASICS: Easy Black Bean Dip

Bean Dip?  YES!  Bean Dip!   Please don’t imagine a pile of dark mushy beans being slopped onto your plate, because that’s not the bean dip I’m about to share w you today!  And to be clear, you all know Hummus is bean dip too right?  Hummus is basically blended chickpeas.  Chickpeas are beans.  We good?  The key in making a good bean dip, is the perfect consistency, freshness & flavor.

FOOD & ALCOHOL!  This is a topic that I’m becoming more familiar with than I ever wanted to be.  I always knew food & alcohol had a special place in everyone’s lives but had no idea the true significance.
