Austin City Limits Music Festival | 2019

Austin City Limits Music Festival hits my blog again this year! I like sharing memories with you guys, so you can live through things with me.

If you can’t make it to something similar to what you see me post, hopefully I can help you feel like you went.  My goal isn’t to look like I’m cooler than you or you should be jealous of me, absolutely not.  Like I’m super casually going to a festival this weekend & a yoga retreat next weekend & maybe flying to California the weekend after that, aren’t I the shit?  No, Jesus no.  Leaving the house takes mental effort, every single time.  I enjoy being home, my couch, my kitchen, controlled temperatures, sleeping whenever I want, sticking to a routine.  Unfortunately, I don’t think that’s the healthiest way for me to live.  I actually realized human interaction has the potential to be the best medicine.  I’m on a kick about love & one way to practice that is to be among people.  The first step in doing that is putting yourself out there.  Literally.  Anytime I’m “out” know that I had to convince myself to do so.

So, I hope you say something like this to yourself after you see my posts & videos about anything: “Wow, that looks so cool.  Look at that cool necklace & crazy outfit.  What musician is that?  Looks fun.  But I’m glad I was able to sit comfortably in my home while she did that recon for me, thanks”

Austin City Limits Music Festival is a music festival held at my coveted Zilker Park for 2 weekends in a row.  They set up several different stages where performers come throughout the 3 days to perform.  Each night there’s a headline artist that’s usually considered the “main event” of the day.  This year it was Guns & Roses, Mumford & Sons & Childish Gambino.

If you’ve never been to a music festival, let me help describe them.  They’re usually fucking crowded.  A LOT of people in one place.  If you don’t like people, it’s overwhelming, however you can easily find areas of the festival to chill out away from the large groups.  Most of the people are running around trying to stand as close to the stage as they can get.  That’s never me.  I find the big open space in the back & enjoy from afar.  To each their own.

There’s usually food, maybe drinks, sometimes art, and a lot of outfits.  Some people get really crazy with their outfits & I absolutely love it.  That’s my favorite part of festivals & concerts – people letting go.  Wearing whatever they want.  Acting however they want.  Dancing, singing.  It’s kind of a carefree space that I love.  There’s also a lot of drugs.  Mostly taken by children.  If you’re not interested in drugs you might barely notice so don’t let that deter you.  Also, drugs?  Like, who cares?  I throw this in the category of “acting however they want”.

This year my highlight was the 45-degree weather that happened on the Friday night of the Festival.  COOLER is better than HOT.  I had my neck warmer, boots & gloves on & although people love telling me “aren’t you from Minnesota?  They would be disappointed you can’t handle this weather.”  But my answer is simple, “This is what Minnesota taught me, come prepared for the weather.”  People that come unprepared are likely the same people complaining about the cold festival weather.  Cold weather literally washes over me & removes all my worries & anxiety.  Takes the stress & crankiness out of the atmosphere & welcomes warmth via human connection.

Lizzio was the talk of the festival this year.  She came with a fucking baaaaaang bitch.  She loves big girls, she loves twerking her big beautiful behind, she loves herself, her body, the word bitch, you.  What a VIBRATION.  I want to cry of joy that people like her are setting the stage.  Showing YOU that you can do anything.  And that everyone is beautiful.  Which, yes it’s true everyone is beautiful.  The human body is especially beautiful to me because of all the forms it comes in. Every fucking curve, color, dimple, mark, hair & area is unique & an incredible invention.  The Fenty Fashion show on Amazon Prime made my heart flutter & Lizzio is doing the same.  Your beauty is your confidence, and that’s it!  Go listen to her album if you want to look in the mirror & smile at what you see.

That’s what I have for today my sweetie pie friends that are the goddesses of the earth that we walk on.  I love you so much for being here & reading to this part.  I love you.

be thoughtful

Xx
