5 Things To Do For Spring – Today
Although the weather may not be giving us the full Spring sun yet, I can happily feel the energy shifting. There’s nothing like the time change & the sunshine sparkling outside until late in the evening. This is a Spring To Do list that doesn’t simply suggest – cleaning. It suggests, welcoming the change & feeling light!
I’ll admit, I had pictures that I wanted to take for this post but the dang weather hasn’t allowed it. We have such beautiful wildflowers this time of year in Texas, but I’m telling you, we’ve had a mix of rain & wind so often that it’s hard to catch a break! And of course as soon as the sun was shining I was either at the park or busy w work. No time for a quick photo shoot in the flowers, so these pictures will have to work for you. Pretty flower ones will just have to wait.
5 Things To Do For Spring – Today
- Master An At-Home Spray Tan: Welp, tis the time for the translucent white bodies to appear before us & turn red via sunshine. Believe what you want about skin cancer & the aging side effect of sitting in the sun, it’s also a bit of a pain in the ass, right? I remember having to schedule enough time to lay down in the sun to get a bronze enough color. UGH so annoying. (*Speaking of sun, I need to schedule my annual skin exam!*) If you haven’t mastered the at-home tanning routine yet, let 2019 be your year! Follow these at-home tanning tips, HERE. It’s no secret I’m all about a good tan, especially the confidence that comes with it. Shorts, pretty spring dresses, & short sleeves are coming in season quickly! Now is the time to master your at home tanning routine so you feel ready to show off your glowing goddess skin, minus the time under the sun.
- Buy A Pretty Spring Dress: Put away the bulky sweaters & get out the pretty Spring dresses, because it’ll make you feel better! There’s something about the change of seasons that really boosts your energy, especially Spring. We’ve been wrapped up & hibernating for months, now the sun is out late & there’s an undeniable lightness in the air. Having a new spring dress that makes you feel happy – will make your day brighter, trust me. My favorite really pretty & affordable Spring dresses {that you can wear to work} are right (HERE). BUT, for an all-out girly dress that you probably wore to Church when you were approx 4 years old – take a look at this one I had to buy myself. Perfect for Easter – (HERE).
- Book a Trip: I’m realizing more & more – time gets away from us. The days can seem slow & boring, but before you know it another week is done, another month is gone, & another season has passed. The time is NOW. Take this Spring season to book a trip! Whatever that means to you – a two week trip across the globe or a night in the city next door. Whatever you can manage, book it now! And try your best to manage booking something, you almost always can, it’s a matter of prioritizing & maybe a little risk – but getting out of your city is always a good idea. Even for a night.
- Add A Walk To Your Daily Routine: A walk is underrated & I’ve recently become obsessed again. Like OBSESSED! If allergies are your reason for staying in, snort Flonase & head out. Yes, you need the nasal one. (Trust me, I’m the Queen of allergies. Please don’t try to take that crown, it’s the only thing I can comfortably wear.) There is absolutely nothing in the world more refreshing than walking outside & breathing in the fresh air, especially during Spring when everything is blooming. The trees are SO green. Everything is! Stop & look at them. OMG, I’m in freaking awe of this magical planet Earth. And not to mention the beautiful bodies that are hitting the running trails, get out there & enjoy the eye candy. Trust. Me. And, check out 10 things to do at any Park (HERE).
- Focus On A Small Cleaning Challenge: Don’t generalize cleaning, rather think of a small cleaning project you can work on & knock it out. I’m throwing things out of my house ALL THE TIME. I’m not exaggerating. I have a Goodwill bin in the closet by the door so I can continuously through things in it, and I do, making a drop off happen almost weekly. My cleaning challenge this Spring is to dig deeper into my closet. That’s the hardest place for me to clean things out of. I can always imagine an outfit with any piece of clothing I won, so it’s my biggest challenge to get rid of clothes. I’m going to work on it, that’s my goal! (must get rid of things to get new things, right? 🙂 )
And there you have it!
5 things you can do today in preparation for this beautiful spring season. I hope you’re as obsessed as I am with this new season, it’s so pretty!
I’m working on all 5 of these things right now actually. I already have my girly AF dress, my alarm is set for an AM walk outside, obviously already mastered my spray tan situation, currently have a tab open to book a hotel in Houston AND cleaning my closet out is my last pending item… surprise surprise.
Anything you guys do to really soak in the Spring season? Share with me! I think my favorite has been the time outside, staring at trees. I actually considered a career as an arborist for a quick 5 minutes the other afternoon.
Ok that’s too much. Have a great week, talk to you on Thursday!
Love you, meant it. Be thoughtful
Xx
