Summer Wedding Guest Dresses
We all know I’m the wedding grinch, but as much as I’m uninterested in the uber extravagant wedding traditions, I do love attending the celebration of LOVE. Can we do these more often?
I’m not yet in understanding of the traditional wedding parties, wedding planning w excess money & specific details, a huge wedding guest list, or meeting standard wedding expectations. I’m actually incredibly annoyed w a majority of it because I feel like it deflates the actual purpose – LOVE. However, there is nothing better than the CELEBRATION of love. For some of you, that might be a hard difference to understand, but trust me the difference is major.
Anytime there’s a celebration of LOVE – I’m all on board. It’s easy, it’s full, it has all the feelings. I’ve been to a few weddings that truly encompassed the meaning of love & it radiated through everyone attending. A true celebration where you could see how wrapped into each other the bride & groom were. V interested.
Clearly, I’m a work in progress w my ever-morphing thoughts on WEDDINGS. I recently attended one that was full of love, my favorite kind. Do you want to see the wedding guest dresses I was thinking of wearing? I liked them all, if you have a wedding to attend this summer maybe you’ll feel pretty wearing one of these.
Summer Wedding Guest Dresses
ASOS DESIGN pleated midi dress with lace inserts: I wore this dress & it felt like a dream my child self would want for me! But, I think it’s already sold out. None the less, I wanted to link it here so you can see if sizes pop up as available in the future. (I found a very similar one, here)
ASOS DESIGN square neck midi dress with floral embroidery: If you know me, you would know I’d have this dress on my favorites list. The flowers? Need I say more? For a summer wedding it’s a perfect mix of formal & the blooming summer vibration. I like the black for an evening, possibly outdoor celebration?
ASOS DESIGN embellished neck tulle midi dress: I wanted to wear this dress but ultimately thought it was a little too formal for the wedding I was attending. I love it though. So breezy, yet formal. If you haven’t noticed, I love the mint green color of wedding dresses for the summer.
ASOS DESIGN lace midi dress with pinny bodice: This is my underdog dress of the list, but I tend to go for the underdog most often. Is it just me, or do we all love the rust color? Something about the warm summer & pretty sunsets that are giving me this deep brownish red color. I’d wear it more casual w a little white sneaker & dainty jewelry OR dress it up with a heel & statement earring. I can see this baby being versatile for however you need to wear it.
ASOS DESIGN bandeau crop top prom midi dress: I notice this dress says prom, so maybe that means it’s youthful (ha!). For something a a little more formal, I love this deep maroon color & bandeau top. It also looks super comfortable! You could wear your hair up with pretty earrings & a fancy heel. Love it!
Zarah Strapless High Slit Midi Dress: This dress is sexual, but that works for some people & I respect that. It didn’t work for the wedding I was attending, but I know someone can pull it off.
Pink Slip Dress: I wanted this dress but didn’t have time to order it, I still want it. I’m obsessing over silk fabric for summer & this hot pink can do NO WRONG. I would order a size up so it doesn’t hug my body too much for a wedding, keeping it flowy.
Embroidered Linen Dress: This dress is pretty casual but I love the vibrant blue for summer & a daytime wedding. I imagined it w a very sparkly heel, like this one (here), & statement sparkly earrings to match.
Yellow Ruffled Tulle Dress I’m a big fan of yellow all summer long & this dress adds a romantic feel to the color. How light & pretty is this?? I want to buy it. And I might. Can you not see it floating through the classic wedding tunes on your bronze summer skin all night long??
If you have a summer wedding in front of you, hopefully this will help you feel pretty while you enjoy the LOVE in the air! I always try to make sure I’m dressed up enough to respect the special event but make sure to stay the hell away from any shade of WHITE or fabrics that will outshine the bride. Can you imagine?
Have a great week everyone, enjoy it!
Be thoughtful
Xx
