New Year, New Workout Gear
It’s 2019 and it’s time to workout. Take care of our bodies. Our bodies are the coolest things on the planet earth you guys, they can do miraculous things. Let’s test that this year, let’s get it moving & bending & to its full mechanical potential.
I’ve learned a lot this year about health & our human form. Everything from running, to group workouts, lifting heavy things, hanging, stretching our limbs, wiggling our toes, balance, brain – is incredible! This form we’re in, is CRAZY. And can do anything!
Let’s try using our bodies this year to do some wacky stuff. The one way I know how to help get you motivated? New workout clothes. No one feels like a sexier animal beast than the person with their new hot ass workout clothing. No one. Your body is looking all fly & tight, ready to be put to the test. You walk with a little extra bounce in your new shoes. You’re ready to get this body of yours moving. Stretch & show those workout clothes what you’re made of. I’ll say it so you don’t have to.
New workout clothing helps get you motivated to workout, therefore it’s a good investment.
Trust me.
Get your gift cards out ladies & gentlemen, it’s time to make an investment in your BODY.
New Year, New Workout Gear – 5 Recommendations:
1:: High-Rise Elevate Compression Leggings for Women: Basic black leggings. If you’re just starting a workout routine & don’t want to draw too much attention, you can’t go wrong with black leggings. A staple in anyone’s wardrobe. I can vouch for Old Navy workout leggings, I have a few of them. Love their fit, price point, and the variety. They’re NOT see through & let you have a full range of movement – comfortable. Wash well too. If you’ve been wearing 2018 leggings that are now fading & slightly transparent – time for a new pair!
2:: The Upside Sandhills Short: I have these in red too & wear them all the time! They’re incredibly comfortable & I love the material. They stay where they’re supposed to & don’t twist around too much reveling all of your precious parts. This black pair is on sale & I couldn’t be more obsessed! Perfect for the gym or running outside. They run a little big in my opinion so maybe consider ordering a size down. These shorts are so good I would buy them for you if I knew you wanted them.
3:: Body Fusion Sports Bra: I almost suffocated to my death a few workouts ago because my bra was so fucking tight I couldn’t breathe. I respect holding my ting tangs in place, but I would prefer not dying in the process. I have a new style I’m obsessed with, higher neck & no clips or wires. Smooth & secure. Tried. Tested. Approved. Throw out anything else, bye. I don’t own this bra but have one very similar that I love, but I’ll be adding this one to my cart ASAP. The high neckline may seem a bit… prude. But it offers a very slimming look, trust me.
4:: Stripe Mesh Tie-Back Tank: Not a huge fan of paying very much for tops because they get the grimiest & I like replacing them often. I have a ton of tops from Old Navy but this is my favorite one. You can tie it up for a more fitted top if you’re doing yoga, stretching, ect. OR leave it hanging for a loose breathable shirt while you’re jogging or sprinting hills {you badass you}. Depends on your workout of the day. Love these.
5:: Adidas Trail Running Shoe: I need to get better at buying workout shoes, when sparkling heels are next to a workout shoe I have to buy the heels. It’s a condition. BUT, a few pairs of workout shoes are a must. I have my eye on these ones. I have some that I can wear for light workouts, a different pair for running the trail, and another one for my group workouts.
Who’s goal is to workout more this year & what’s your plan on getting there? I LOVE hearing what workout routines people are trying, that’s the hardest part. Finding a routine that works for you & sticking to it.
I’ll tell you now. Another major thing I learned this year is how incredibly DIFFERENT every single one of our bodies are. Respect a workout that works for you. Maybe it’s nothing more than yoga every single day or a light walk, maybe you need heavy weights, or maybe you just want to run. Find what works for YOU!
For the entire last year, I’ve been doing a group workout class. This has been working for me because there’s a ton of variety, I can bring my dog, epi-pen, and they challenge Wafiq too. But this year specifically I’ve made an extra effort to mix in an occasional Yoga, Barre, walk or any other workout form I can find. There’s so much to gain from a mix.
Alright, tell me… what’s your stay fit plan??
Be thoughtful,
