A Horrifying 1st-Time-Cooking-A-Turkey Story
My whole life I’ve been eating these tasty turkeys with no idea the raunchiness behind the cooking! My God, this is barbaric.

I’m SO excited for this new year. I needed it! And I’m ready! Bring it on 2015, let’s do this!
The weather in Dubai has finally given us a break from the smoldering heat and started blessing us with nice, breathable air again. Being able to actually go outside has changed my life.
I’ve gotten into this habit of telling myself to say 5 things I’m grateful for when I’m in a nervous mood, or whenever I’m having a bad day, or when I’m missing my puppy girl Bernice.
I’m writing this post with the sole purpose to show you that I am indeed alive.
By some miracle of God I made it through the Master Cleanse alive. Hopefully my body is thankful, because that wasn’t easy.
Now that I’ve learned about the grocery stores that have little sections in the back corners with organic food, I decided I’m going to do my best to eat as healthy as I can.
When starting this blog I told myself I was writing to forever remind myself what this experience was like. I recently started thinking, I want to write down the things I really miss about the States now.
This is the most delicious snack I’ve ever had. And I’m not exaggerating. Dates are the happening treat in the Middle East because their palm trees produce all kinds of fresh, delicious versions of the tasty treat.
I’ll say the experience of being in the region during Ramadan was an interesting one. I’m grateful I was here for it and extra grateful I was able to experience the holiday with a Muslim family.
I’ll start from the beginning. I woke up one morning about 2 weeks ago, right after I posted about attempting Ramadan traditions, with an enormously aching shoulder.
I wasn’t going to write this post until after Ramadan. I thought there was no point in talking much about the holiday until the month was over and I was able to fully observe the practice. Only then would I be able to write about Ramadan in a more educated and interesting way.
