3 Must-Have Winter Jackets Under $200

Did You Know? Queen Elizabeth II is a trained mechanic. (via)

Holy smokes, Austin Texas rolled straight from the scorching heat of summer into the freezing tundra of winter.  Fall?  One thing I learned last year is the importance of a VERY warm jacket.  Specifically, a jacket that you can easily wear with any outfit so you’re never feeling mismatched, rather always put together.

Winter-Jackets

Jackets have been flying under the radar.  I’ve never put emphasis on this specific type of clothing.  I lived in MINNESOTA!  For 18 years!  Unacceptable.  Youth kept me warm.  Either that or the largest jacket in the closet.  There was no in-between.  As an adult, I can do better, and need to do better because leaving the house without one is uncomfortable.

Last year, I was drinking SO much cold water that I was constantly COLD!  This memory won’t flee.  I still drink a ton of cold water so I’m predicting the same cold results this year.  BRING ON THE JACKETS.

I’m limiting this list to 3!  The three you need.  This was really challenging for me to do, I thought really hard about the best 3.  One that’ll keep you warm AF, another that’s fun + fancy, and one more that’s comfortable to throw on any time!  Keep these on rotation.  Also, jackets can get expensive, but I kept them under $200 each.  They’re all brands I’m familiar with & believe in their quality, without breaking the bank.

1:: AX Paris belted padded jacket with faux fur lining:  How warm is this jacket?  I’m obsessed with the hooded neck – you know that’s where the warmth is at!  I want as much of my body covered as possible plz.  Not even my eyelashes peeping out.  This jacket isn’t overwhelming, making it easy to wear to work or a night out!  And at a great price point.  I love it.  (similar: hereThe one I’m wearing in these photos is also a big, comfy warm jacket (here).

2:: Fencer Melton Wool Maxi Coat:  I didn’t think I needed a coat like this until I had one.  I love the way this coat dresses up whatever you’re wearing.  I’m especially fond of a belted waist.   You can easily get lost inside a jacket, especially when you’re cold & just trying to stay warm, but cinch this belt tight & you’ll stay warm w a waistline.  It’s important to note, I’m a MAJOR fan of (nearly) ankle length jackets.  Like I said, I want everything covered, x2 would be preferred.

3:: PrettyLittleThing Cropped Bubble Coat:  This is my problem area. I have too many jackets like this one & not enough every-day-i-really-just-need-to-be-warm jackets.  You absolutely need a fun jacket like this!  I bought one for the wedding last year, it went with my dress, and I can not believe how much I’ve worn it.  Soft, comfortable & fucking cool.  Lez be honest here, whenever you dress up you’ll want a nice coat to match the energy you’re bringing to the table.  But I’ve also paired this exact style with a slouchy white Tee, and denim.  Not sure how, but it works!  And this burgundy color, drool-worthy.  (A few others because I couldn’t resist: here/here/here)

In my humble opinion, if you have all 3 of these winter jackets you won’t need anything else.  If you’re anything like me, you’ll get those 3 & probably a few more.  Because JACKETS KEEP YOU WARM.

As long as I have the sunshine, I’m not angry with the cooler weather.  TELL ME, do you guys invest in one warm jacket to take you through the winter?  Or buy a few & mix it up?  Lemme know.

Have a great weekend everyone, see you Tuesday!

Go out & be thoughtful today!

Xx
