3 Classic Pieces Of Jewelry To Invest In
Well well well, this is a new topic for me – jewelry. As someone who hasn’t been a big fan of jewelry, or never had the money for it, I recently came to the conclusion it’s worth paying attention to. An added accessory can really save the day when your outfit is questionable – we’ve all been there.
I’m no expert when it comes to jewelry, or fashion for that matter. It was like yesterday that I got my ears pierced (yes still celebrating), but I can totally share little secrets I’ve learned to make it look like I know what I’m doing. Or at least the confidence to believe that myself. Ha!
This post, in particular, is giving you that final touch. The ONE way I figured out how to elevate any outfit – accessories. I’ll tell you right now, this is a little unusual for me because it’s more expensive pieces. I rarely recommend anything that costs more than $20 because I don’t like that kind of pressure, but sometimes it’s worth it. And jewelry is one of those times.
I bought my first piece of nice jewelry a few years ago when I was leaving Dubai. I wanted something that would last forever + have meaning. I decided to ask Wafiqs dad to write “No regret, No surrender” in Arabic so I could make it into a necklace.
Quick background; Wafiq & I used to play a video game on our phones. & before we would enter war (embarrassing, I know), our troops would say “no regret, no surrender”. We carried that into our real lives. Because I worked in Real Estate I found myself in difficult networking & social activities. I was SO nervous. Some people were BRUTAL & I was the only American. Being social has always been challenging but those scenarios were even harder. So Wafiq would always say: “no regret no surrender”. Just get in there! Don’t regret it, don’t overthink it, don’t give up! We applied that saying to everything we did! Anything that was a challenge or uncomfortable, before doubt could creep in, I would get in there & TRY.
That’s the necklace I wear most often. But it was then that I realized a little shiny accessory can upgrade an otherwise bland outfit choice pretty quickly. Below are the three pieces I highly recommend having at least one of! After college, when you’re trying to look like an adult & be treated that way, these little details can make the difference. You’re investing in yourself & your image 🙂
Cheap jewelry can quickly start looking… cheap. You pay for what you get. Keep in mind, you’ll be able to wear any quality jewelry you have over & over again. You’ll definitely be getting your money worth, especially if you keep it classic!
3 Classic Pieces Of Jewelry To Invest In
ONE: delicate choker
Lana Nude Chain Choker: Dainty jewelry is classic & won’t go out of style. Keep that in mind when you’re looking for the right necklace. You want to spend your money on something that’ll be in style for as long as the necklace will last! A choker is a perfect piece to have because it goes with almost any top or dress, especially for work when you’re not wearing a low neckline. I love the Lana brand because each piece is super dainty, delicate & catches the light in such a perfect way. This is hands down my favorite brand to invest in necklaces from. I particularly love this choker. Total bonus that it can easily be layered with any other necklace you have at home AND it has a few latches so you can wear it snug to your neck or a little longer on your collar line.
TWO: everyday bangle
Tory Burch Logo Stud Gold & Silver Bangle: You absolutely need a gold & silver bangle for your everyday outfits. This one is simple & won’t get in the way, I have something very similar. I also love that it’s not too flashy & won’t draw attention away from whatever else you’re wearing, but still be noticeable to make a perfect difference. I wear either my gold or silver bangle every single day, without question. It’s seriously the easiest way to upgrade. The logo studded bangles are very popular & the amount you want to spend will only go up from here. Like this one, so spend as much as you wish!
THREE: long pendant necklace
Kendra Scott Long Pendant Necklace: And you need one longer necklace, maybe with a little statement piece at the end like this one, so you can wear it over sweaters, t-shirts, or dresses. Kendra Scott has several color combinations w their long pendant necklaces so you’ll definitely be able to find one you love.
And that’s it! Having these pieces allows you to be a little lazier when it comes to piecing together your outfit in the morning.

And before I go today, how awesome was that Instagram Blackout yesterday? Remember life before social media – wasn’t it the best? I’ve been trying to back off social media recently, so yesterday’s blackout was a total joy for me. I’m also the type of person that wouldn’t mind a zombie apocalypse because then I could hide in a cabin with my dog & fam forever, weird?
I did miss seeing you guys though, you’re my friends!
Have a great weekend everyone, be thoughtful
Xx
