My Easy, Everyday Makeup (free) Routine & 5 Reasons You Should Get On Board

Did You Know? The thinnest skin is found on your precious eyelids measuring at .02mm thick.  The thickest skin is found on your feet measuring at 1.4mm thick. ( v i a )

I never thought I’d see the day where I wouldn’t want to wear makeup all day, during work, but here we are.  For the past 2 months I’ve abstained from MOST of my makeup at work.

My Daily Makeup Routine

I used to think makeup was important at work because it helps you look awake, alert, professional, clean, put together, on time – but I’ve had a shift in mentality recently.  I don’t want to put shit on my face when my computer screen & a few people are the only ones reaping the benefits.  Most of the time I don’t even look in a mirror so I’m not even able to marvel at my artwork.

I’ll admit, I’ve never been the person that’s afraid to go outside of the house without makeup, or in my sweatpants (sometimes pajamas).  So going without makeup wasn’t necessarily fearful for me, as I think some people that wear makeup every day can end up feeling.

I decided to ditch the bronzer, foundation, blush, eye shadow, highlight, or whatever else I was using every day.

I think the first week was a little shocking for the other employees.  Like maybe I had an illness or was SUPER hungover or Wafiq & I were breaking up.  In my defense, I don’t think I looked like an ailing ghost, I think it was different from what they were used to seeing.  ESPECIALLY in the mornings when my eyes are puffy and usually red because of allergies + without makeup my freckles & sun spots are visible.  I definitely don’t have the smoothness & dimension that foundation & bronzer bring to the table.

After a week or so went by I perfected the moisturizer, concealer, and mascara routine to a point where I still felt put together, but free.  I think all makeup wearing people, including lovers of makeup, can admit there’s nothing like a fresh, bare, clean face.  YUM.

 My Daily Makeup Routine

My Routine:

  1. Clean Face: Stick to your normal face wash routine.  Full disclosure, I skip this step most mornings. I like the oil that my face accumulated overnight & prefer not to wash it away.

  2. Moisturize: As you know, I’ve been using this Tepez Cream, but am always looking for a stellar moisturizer (tell me!!)

  3. Oil: I like an oily face.  Lately, I’ve been trying Avocado Oil.  I put a thin layer all over, including my neck.  Even Wafiq does this step now 🙂

  4. Conceal:  Use any concealer under your eyes to brighten your entire face with little effort. Lately, I’ve been using this one, but I switch all the time.  Make a huge triangle under your eyes & the spots you want to cover << for me, it’s always around my chin.

  5. Blend:  Wet a beauty blender, I love this one, then start dabbing the blender all over the concealer until it’s blended out & looking smooth.

  6. Powder:  Unless it’s really hot outside, I can skip this step.  Otherwise, I put a translucent powder or a nude eye shadow from this pallet under my eyes to keep the concealer in place all day.

  7. Curl Lashes:  I have stick straight lashes, so curling is a must!

  8. Mascara:  I’ve used this one since I was 16.  I noticed doing both the top & bottom eyelashes helps A LOT.  Sometimes I’ll do the top only & when I look in the mirror, I get scared.

  9. Chapstick: Don’t forget to moisturize your lips!  This finishes it all perfectly!

That’s my new every day, work “look”.

I’m feeling a bit empowered, when I look at my gorgeous coworker’s fully contoured & looking like a hard 10 face – I still find myself happy that my face is clean & nearly makeup free. Confident that I can wear my oily, moisturized face with a dab of concealer & way less product.

So much less to think about, right?!

 My Daily Makeup Routine

5 Benefits of Less Makeup During Workdays:

  • Save money on expensive makeup products

  • Easy & fast – meaning less time getting ready in the morning & more time sleeping

  • Focus on the health of your actual skin – moisturizing & clarifying the skin that you have

  • Enjoy weekend makeup again – you’ll be creative & energized when you get to do a full face of makeup with all your products on a well-rested face

  • Boost of confidence – You’ll feel proud & confident to rock the carefree make up look at the office! Trust me 🙂

My Daily Makeup Routine

I throw on layers of makeup on the weekends or a night out or anytime I’m bored.  Bring on the blush, glitter, bronzer with a glow, fake lashes, red lipstick, and whatever else I can find –  but as far as day to day, super minimal is my new routine!

I totally understand this sounds silly to a lot of makeup-free people but once you get used to wearing makeup it’s kind of weird to walk away from it…  For anyone that sits behind a desk the majority of the day & doesn’t see the point in spending $$$ on an expensive, gorgeous, high glow, foundation to wear all day at work.  Skip it! Save it for the weekends & weeknight outings.

My Daily Makeup Routine

To make my life even easier, I roll my hair up into a clip before bed & let it down the next day for a super relaxed curl.  That’s it.  My morning routine is 10 minutes max.

Anyone else started wearing less makeup during the day when you’re staring at the computer for hours? Let me know! I need a support group.

Have a great start to the week & as always, be thoughtful

Halloween At Home

Did you know? According to Irish legend, Jack O’Lanterns are named after a stingy man named Jack who, because he tricked the devil several times, was forbidden entrance into both heaven and hell. He was condemned to wander the Earth, waving his lantern to lead people away from their paths. ( v i a )

At the end of the day, I think Halloween is for kids.  Can I admit that?  I also think it’s fun for adult parties – but the key word is FUN.  It’s meant to be a little cheesy & a good time, for kids… or adults to act like kids.

Either way, I’m in.

I like decorating for Halloween because I like decorating, especially for Halloween because I remember being so excited as a kid to go trick or treating.  Part of the build up was seeing houses that were ready to go in the Halloween spirit, it makes kids so excited!

So do it.

Dancing Skeleton Lady

I’m feeling the goth vibe lately.  Maybe I’m in a dark place?  Black x black is kind of my favorite feeling right now.  (Although I tried black lipstick the other day & Wafiq told me to take it off.) This lady needs a permanent place on my table.

Adult Pumpkin

Nice enough to have through Thanksgiving, adulting Halloween real hard w this beauty. Pretty + Clean + Festive.

Jack O Lanterns

Get out of carving pumpkins without looking like the Grinch of Halloween by having some pumpkins that still do the trick.  Plus this little guys are so cute!

So. Whether or not you have kids, will be seeing kids, or even have any friends at this point – decorating is important to help you reminisce that trick or treat feeling.  Or help spread that feeling to passerby’s.  Right?

Have a great weekend & be thoughtful!

3 Easy, Delicious, Healthy Salad Combinations

I eat salad every day.

The interesting part is, I never order salad at a restaurant. I love making them at home.  Mixing all my favorite foods in one dish is one of the best creations of all time, and I’ve mastered some favorites.

I go hard on these 3 salad combo’s but feel free to mix them up in new, different ways.  That’s how I never get sick of salad!

No need to be fancy or time consuming to be delicious.  I mix mine fresh for a quick lunch almost every single day.

Salad Combo #1

Arugula – 2 Large handfuls

Cilantro – 1 Handful chopped

Pinto Beans – 1/4 Cup drained & rinsed

Cheddar Cheese – 2 Tbls cut into tiny cubes

Onion – 1/2 Cup sliced thin

Garlic – 1 big clove diced

S&P – to your tasting

Lime – Juice of 1 Lime

Olive Oil – 1-2 Tbls

Directions: Throw all together in large bow & toss

Salad Combo #2

Cabbage – 2 Cups sliced thin

Basil – 3/4 Cup chopped

Feta Cheese – 2 Tbls crumbled

Avacado – 1 avocado chopped

Celery – 2 stalks sliced

Oilve Oil – 1-2 Tbls

Garlic – 1 big clove diced

Lime – Juice of 1 lime

S&P – to your tasting

Directions: Throw all together in large bowl & toss

 Salad Combo #3

Mixed Greens – 2 large handfuls

Black Beans – 1/4 Cup drained & rinsed

Rice – 1/4 Cup cooked

Cheddar Cheese – 2 Tbls cut into tiny cubes

Cilantro – 1 bunch chopped

Lime – Juice of 1 lime

Olive Oil – 1-2 Tbls

Garlic – 1 large clove diced

S&P – to your tasting

Directions: Throw all together in large bowl & toss

To summarize: I have leaves, beans, cheese, salt, pepper, garlic, olive oil, limes, avocado, & celery or carrots on hand at all times.  Makes life SO easy.    And the best part of making salads at home is that you can add more (or less) of ingredients you really like.  When I make a salad for Wafiq I double the beans, onions, and cheese.  When I make salads for me I go heavy on the leaves, lime juice & avocados.  We’re so lucky to have a kitchen w/so many wonderful ingredients.

Anyone have any interesting salad combo’s?!

Ps.  The new fall TV series lineup has me anxious. I have them recorded & have been waiting to catch up – see which ones are worthy of my time now that I finished The American’s.  (Did you know the lead actors in The American’s are actually married in real life?  Doesn’t that make the series even better?!?)

Have a fantastic week and be thoughtful <3

How Coconut Oil Saved Me From Hormonal Acne

My life w/coconut oil.

I know there’s lists of 101 ways to use coconut oil, and I doubt very few of them, but there’s ONE thing I use coconut oil for that makes me a believer – face moisturizer for chin acne!

I’ll be the first to say I have major jealousy issues w/girls who have smooth, oily, acne & wrinkle free skin. I doubt I came out the womb w/that type of skin.

One major problem for me has always been acne. In high school = baaaaaaaaaaaad.  I managed to get rid of the acne for awhile in college, while I was taking birth control pills.

Then, I quit taking birth control pills & noticed (how could I miss them) nasty zits on my chin area… & they would NOT go away.

I wasn’t getting acne anywhere else. Just my chin.

I went to the dermatologist and she gave me some crap that was more placebo than anything – didn’t do shit.

I did my own research and tried face masks, methods, ideas, and strategies. BUT NOPE, NASTY LITTLE ZITS KEPT POPPING UP! UGH!

I finally came to the conclusion that the zits would forever be at home on my chin. Hormonal acne that would never go away. AT LEAST it wasn’t my whole face.

The time I started experimenting with coconut oil.

I was trying to see how awesome coconut oil was after arriving back in the states and hearing all the rave reviews. I started using coconut oil as shaving cream, tried oil pulling & hair masks. All impressive.

THEN I tried coconut oil as a body moisturizer…. And, to be honest, liked the little shine it gave my freshly spray tanned legs. So there’s that.

And one day thought: my face is as dry as the planet mars, lets throw some coconut oil on it.

I slathered it straight from the jar onto my face before bed & felt amazing. When I woke up my face was super moisturized and that’s what mattered to me. I started doing this every night… for months.

And my chin acne started going away.

I didn’t even realllllllllllly believe it was from the coconut oil (I thought my hormones just took a turn for the better), UNTIL my trip from hell in New York.

I forgot coconut oil & brought regular face moisturizer.

WOW. My chin had a hay day.

I got back to Austin and my chin was back to it’s worst! FULL ACNE!

I immediately washed my face and SLATHERED coconut oil all over it. The next day my chin felt significantly better & every day after that my chin got better and better.

It was then that I realized coconut oil was fixing my acne.

I also noticed when I would use certain face masks it would make me break out, so now I keep the masks away from my chin – coconut oil only!

I’ve been doing this for about 7 months & STILL get nervous when I slather oil on my face – thinking I’ll definitely break out in the morning. (Adding oil to acne?!)   But every morning I wake up with a happy chin.

This is what I learned after researching it a bit:

Coconut Oil is anti-inflammatory + anti-bacterial and contains Vitamins E, K and A. ( v i a / v i a )

Which is why I notice any acne I do have reduces in size & swelling so quickly + keeps acne away. Poof!

SO if anyone is struggling w/acne, especially chin or hormonal acne & has dry skin – give coconut oil a try! It sounds crazy & will feel weird but who would’ve thought something so simple could help me so much!?!

I use it all over my face every single night (I even travel w/little packets like this now so I never go a day without) & sometimes use it in the morning if I’m not wearing makeup or don’t mind a shiny face.

I’ve also read some people mix in tree oil? Haven’t tried that yet, but definitely will.

YAY! I’m excited to share this, hoping it’ll help someone.  Having your face look different than you feel is frustrating.

Let me know if you give it a try (or have any other ideas)!

I’m off to explore San Antonio, took a little getaway South this week & the only thing missing is my Bernice – I’ll post San Antonio pictures soon, for now catch them on Instagram.

Have a positive rest of the week!

Going to the Pool? I Have Your Back.

I forgot how much I dread living in the Sahara Desert – also known as Texas.  One thing I did NOT leave in Dubai: Heat!

Summer burns.  Which means we’re either inside, or in water.  Doing anything else is dreadful.  If you’re living somewhere with scalding temperatures, you feel me.

There’s a couple essentials I keep in my pool purse that are MUSTS for days in the water.

Feeling comfortable & confident in your swimsuit every single weekend is not always the easiest – having these items packed helps feel prepared, comfortable & confident.

What's In My Purse: Pool Day

1. Cold Shoulder Beach Dress

White, light & easy.  Having a lose fitting cover for your swimsuit is perrrfect. When necessary – roll it up and throw it in your purse so it doesn’t get lost at a busy pool.

2. Orikami Sushi Sack

Isn’t this cool?  You can roll it up super small when you’re not using it.  I love bucket sacks for the pool because they can easily be thrown or hidden anywhere.  Keep in mind, don’t spend a lot of money on a purse for the pool – it’s wet, dirty, possibly sandy & not the best place for you covetted accessories.

3. Hattie Hexagon Sunglasses

BIG SUNGLASSES ARE A MUST.  Always.  They cover so much of your face & there’s only positives to that.  Having constant shade on your face allows you to be more tolerant to the sun all day.

Also, don’t spend a lot of money on the sunglasses you wear to a pool day.  I’m the only person I know that hasn’t lost expensive sunglasses and it’s because I take cheap ones to places they’re likely to get lost or damaged – the pool.

4. Makeup Remover Wipes

Nothing in the world feels better than finishing your time at the pool with a refreshing face wash.

5. Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker

Music makes people feel good. And no one remembers to bring a speaker –> Be the hero.

6. Tinted Mason Jar

I bought this for Wafiq and am soooooo jealous!! We wanted a plastic cup for pool days because glass isn’t allowed – this cup is the coolest.  (Red solo cups are very college, we’re past that right?_

Fill up a large plastic cup with a drink of choice.  For pool parties, bring alcohol, you’ll feel better in your bikini with a little buzz.  🙂

7. Comb & Hair Clips

To organize the strands after a dip.

8. Lip Balm + SPF

If I don’t have chapstick, I’ll drive to the nearest store & get some before I go out to the pool. That dramatic.

9. SPORT Sunscreen

I’ve tried every sunscreen I can imagine.  Although this sport sunscreen isn’t the most organically friendly option, it’s the only thing I’ve found that protects my skin.

I spray it on and it covers evenly & lasts all day – in and out of the water.  No missed spots. IF you have fair skin like me, you know this is a treasure to find.  No more sunburn!

10. Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer

For that one zit that sticks out like a shinning dragon

Ok, what did I miss?? Any pool day essentials you can’t go without?!

50 Things That Make Me Happy

Sad sad sad days we’re having here.

50 Things That Make Me Happy

How totally frustrating & exhausting, right?

I saw on Tyler Oakleys Instagram that it’s important for the straight allies to show their support to the LGBTQ community during this time.

I thought I’ve always done that but realized only people that know me know I’m ride or die for the LGBTQ community – I haven’t thrown it out there to everyone via social media.  And if it helps at all, then I’d be glad to do so.  And I suggest other straight people express their support as well, if it can help during this time then why not.

50 Things That Make Me Happy

Love is love, I’m disgusted by the actions of this last weekend and have no words. I literally can’t imagine & I feel heavy over this entire situation.  I’m so sorry.  To the LGBTQ community, I love you.  I feel you.  I’m with you.

Catching Up – Why I Don’t Want Wafiq To Get A Job

Hi Hi Hi!

I feel like it’s been awhile since I did a little life update and chatted about everything going on…

 Malibu Beach

Hopefully! Wafiq will be able to start working soon (…after patiently waiting a year to figure out the visa situation.)

I was on the way to work the other day and started wondering – why don’t I want him to start working?

I would welcome the extra income with open arms & would be happy he could finally push forward in his career – BUT, for some freakish reason, I couldn’t figure out whyyyy, in the back of my mind – I did not want him to get a job.

I was almost hoping his work permit would s l o w down, or maybe never come…?!?! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! (I know, I’m terrible).

I realized, it’s because he’s not stuck in the conventional work schedule yet –>  He still has that freedom we were living with for so long & by seeing it in him, I feel happier and oddly safe?  Like – I can’t get stuck, as long as he isn’t.

What worries me about him starting a job is drowning in routine, which has always been my biggest fear.   I’m already in it,  and coming home to someone who isn’t – has been giving me l i f e .

Both of us having a full time (conventional) job freaks me out.

Constantly proving yourself to climb the ladder, follow orders, punch in / punch out. Ewwwwww.

I’m fully aware I don’t make sense to everyone.  Because everyone is not the same. For some people – working in a conventional position, with routine, fulfills their purpose.  They’re able to participate in activities that allows them to shine.

For some people, it doesn’t.  We all have different ways to fill our tank, and that’s what makes each individual so cool & special. I’m obsessed with these differences, it’s what makes each person so interesting.

My feelings: Don’t work Wafiqqqqq! Saveeeee yourrrrsellllllfffffff!

But that’s out of control. I get it.

Malibu Beach

I’ll say, from experience, there’s something about being broke that brings out the feels.  (My never-get-a-job-speech.)

When you don’t have any money, life is creative.   You don’t go buy whatever you want & do whatever you want – You figure out other ways.  Keeping up with the Joneses doesn’t exist –  fuck having a posh vacation, a new car, organic toothpaste, or a fancy purse – you’re busy figuring tomorrow out!  (<— As you can see, I’ve been dying to write a post on money… I’ll get into that rant another day.)

Not that money isn’t also incredibly wonderful, but there’s something about being pretty broke that sparkles at night.

Malibu Beach

Howeverrrr, Wafiq will start working soon whether I like it or not… BUT we’re both running our engines with optional career paths to find another, possibly unconventional, way.

[Lucky for me – our crazy minds think alike]

Other news to receiving his work permit: a driver’s license + travel permit + temp social security # + normal, every day opportunities – so we’ll be more ecstatic than you can imagine.

Our life has hit somewhat of a Pause button figuring out those technicalities, but hopefully it’s coming to the end! (Not our life, just the Pause button.)

 Malibu Beach

Being June already! We’re reserving this weekend to check in on our goals & reevaluate where we’re headed.

Anyone else taking some time to check in?  It’s crayyy zeeee how fast time flies isn’t it?! I feel like it was JUST January… shiiiiiiiiiiii

What’s everyone else up to? What do you have going on?!?  Anything spicy?  A new dog?  A new baby?  A new boyfriend?! A favorite compliment?! (love those)

Have a great summertime weekend everyone, hope your days are as happy as you dream them to be 🙂

May Monthly Favorites | MissBassmaster

My favorite blog posts to read are the Monthly Favorites.   They take out all the beating around the bush of products that are sort of good or kind of suck.

Instead, it’s more of a monthly obsession list.

(Yessssssss, me too!)

For that reason – I wanted to join the monthly favorites club.

This is going to be a list, but I would eventually love creating a short video each month.

{There are times my love for something comes across better with a little video action, rather than just writing.  You feel me?}

May Favorites 2016

1. Sinful Colors Endless Blue Nail Polish:

I’m not typically a fan of colored nail polish, but this blue does it for me.  It’s summery, but not bright pink, typical white, or black.  And it’s pretty subtle.

I tried pulling these blue nails off in more professional settings rather than just at the beach or on vacation and I don’t think it freaked anyone out. The color isn’t as shocking as it sounds and every time I slap it on my fingers I’m obsessed with my nails!

2. Set of 3 Dot Coat Hooks:

I have been searching HIGH AND LOW for coat hangers for my itty bitty entry since I moved back in October. I love these sooooooo much – I’m thinking of buying another set.  They’re both an art piece + a perfect coat hook.

3. Lace-Trim Cotton-Blend Shirt:

I’ve been living in this shirt. Too much. I’ve managed to find a way to wear it with anything, in any weather condition.   Hot, cold, windy, rainy, sunny – this shirt is my go-to.

It’s the perfect thickness where it’s impossible to be too hot or too cold. It’s light enough to lay on your body comfortably.  I’ll tie it up into a shorter shirt with a high waisted skirt, wear it long over leggings, tuck it in cut off shorts.  I’m in love.

4. Braids:

Rapunzel length hair finally became worthy of its maintenance.  I’m digging the (pigtail? boxer?) braids this month. Never did I ever think I would be wearing two braids after turning 7 years old but here I am.

Braids are the B E S T thing for hair because they’re so low maintenance! (If you don’t know how to braid – I would learn.  It’ll be worth it.)  Lately, I’ve been putting in two braids after work on Friday and leave them in all weekend.  They go everywhere with me and I love it.  Hair Gods: please don’t let this trend go away.

5. Carli Bybel Highlighter:

Highlighter is the best make up friend for anyone with dry skin like me.  My skin always looks cracked and dry and thirsty. Sick.  Since using massive amounts of coconut oil and throwing on highlighter, I’m much happier.

And this month my go-to has been the Carli Byblel palette.  {Anyone her YouTube fan?}  If you’ve been wondering whether or not to buy this palette, BUY IT.  So affordable – and for the highlighters alone, worth it!

6. Zarbee’s Honey Cough Soothers:

Leeeeeet the sun shineeeeee!! Leeeeeet the sun shine in!!!!! Holy mother of pearl it’s here.  I’ve looked F O R E V E R for cough medicine that doesn’t have stupid sugar as one of the first ingredients.  FINALLY I found Zarbee’s.

I am not a doctor, but I consider this common sense.  If you’re taking medicine that has processed sugar in it, especially as a main ingredient, how is that doing your body any favor?  That’s a freaking candy cane. Take a look at your cough drops and you’ll feel me.  Zarbee’s is the first miracle of an answer that I’ve found in the sore throat department.  Honey on the go, ouiiiii!  This will FOREVER be found in my medicine cabinet. Get excited. Game over.

7. Forever 21 Classic Skinny Jeans:

I have been living in these!  I’ve never purchased jeans from Forever 21 before.  I’m super particular about jeans so I always go “jean shopping” to dedicate some time to trying on different styles & brands… Well, I didn’t have time and was desperately seeking skinny, grey, jeans so I grabbed a $10 pair from Forever 21.  The rest is history!

I’ve even washed these jeans a couple times and they’re still staying true to style.  Is this real?  Anyone else try jeans from Forever 21?  I also love that they’re not super thick, which is a life saver in this Texas heat.

8. Straws:

…and these particular ones, have been serving me well lately. We have several cups that require straws and because sooomeone continuously puts them in the bottom of the dishwasher – they melt away, leaving us with no straws to use in our wonderful cups.

SO, a quick stop in Target and these bad boys came to the rescue.  I bought several different straws and these are my favorite.  The length, the amount of water you get with each sip – I can’t drink water without them now.

9. Cole Haan Polarized Sunglasses:

As you can probably tell from pictures, I’ve become slightly obsessive over these sunglasses.  I’ve been on the hunt for sunglasses that were huge, black, and reflect just a little… My wishes were answered when I stumbled across these.

I like huge glasses because they cover more of my face from sun & I like when they reflect just a little so people can’t see me staring at them.

10. The Blacklist:

Last but not least, my full on dedication to The Blacklist this month.  I’ve completely caught up – and can go to bed at a decent time again.

Has anyone been watching?  I love the constant twists & turns! Can’t shut it off.  I can focus on one tv show at a time, so it’s one guilty pleasure a month & this one takes the cake! (Obviously, this month is The Bachelorette…)

That’s it! May is gone, ready to get into June.  I’m totally looking forward to recording next month’s favorite’s, I feel like writing about them just isn’t compassionate enough!! lol

What are you guys loving this month?  Inspire me please 🙂

It’s Time To Check In On Your Goals

It’s April already!  Quarter 1 is done son.   I’m torn between being excited that time is flying by, and being freaked the F out.  I try not to think about it <– Story of my life.

Check in on your quarter one goals

How has the beginning of the year gone?  If you set goals at the beginning of the year – now is the time to check-in, see what’s on track and what isn’t.

This weekend I spent some major time examining my goal situation.  Because it’s ONLY April, you have time to get back on track. (If you didn’t set goals in January – I suggest you set some t o d a y !)

Goals are the BEST way to check yourself. I’ve always been good at doing this. I also make a vision board that I stuff full of all my crazy ideas + inspiration.  Sometimes the ideas follow through, sometimes I take a drastic left turn.  But either way it’s both important and exciting to have a vision board, and/or goals written down.

I can’t image a life without written goals. REALLY.

One of my goals this quarter was to create a consistent workout plan. I don’t want to call it a fitness routine –> any routine makes me want to take a nap.

Soo.. Wafiq and I joined an outdoor boot camp. My first mistake was joining any class with Wafiq. His leg length is twice the size of mine, which full blown sucks because we do a ton of partner work.  He’s always encouraging me: “lets sprint this ramp”… (Ummmmm haven’t we been sprinting this whole God forsaken run?)  Inside I’m praying to anyone listening that I don’t pass out. Or even worse throw up on myself.  AT LEAST, I’m so exhausted I’m partially blacked out for most of the work out.

Goals should be for your health, relationship, travel, career, home decorating.  Really anything.  I have several categories that are important to me and I work on a goal for each.

I noticed what works best for me is making some super large, big picture goals at the beginning of the year.. Then kind of forgetting them & taking it month by month. Otherwise I get overwhelmed in the big picture and end up all over the place.

At the beginning of the month I set goals for that month, then every Sunday I make mini goals for the week, stepping myself closer to achieving my monthly goals. Eventually working towards the big picture.

EEEEE I really love doing this. Who’s setting goals? Who’s on track?! What’s your strategy?! BOOM shaka laka!

Also, wow, since January I’ve been looking for a badass boss lady planner to put all my lists in and still have only managed to use a pile of post-it notes. {I love them so much} but it’s time.  Boss planner searching commencing NOW. Toodles.
