I’m sharing recent snacks & food from the kitchen! I haven’t talked food & groceries in a long time, so I thought it would be appropriate to pepper your life with some healthy snacks to feed yourself in between the holiday treats.
Are you sick of me discussing food & vegetables? Because I’m not done yet, & if you stay on board I think your tummy will be happy to hear from me. I’ve discovered the worldwide variety of vegetables. & I’m sharing.
I thought of this while I was making a 25 ingredient salad for lunch the other day. I do not recommend it. I don’t care what anyone says or how much meal prep they do, having fresh & diverse food every meal is difficult. But, I have helpers that make it easier.
Surprisingly, this is a common question I get asked when people know I drastically changed my diet. Pretty quickly, someone will ask how I eat the way I do, when Wafiq can eat anything he wants.
At this point, I don’t even know what dairy is. Unless we’re talking eggs. Because is that dairy? If so, then I eat eggs but no other dairy, & I mean none.
We’re in March. And March is a big deal for me. It used to be because March is the month SXSW festival hits Austin, TX and the city turns into a jungle gym of adventure. People flood the city, coming from everywhere, and little Austin Texas doesn’t seem so little anymore.
Remember when we ate ALL the cookies, bread, cakes, mashed potatoes, gravy & drank wine every day like it was our birthday? Also known as the month of December. Well, if you’re still on (or trying to get back on) the healthy kick of 2019 this is a basic recipe for you.
If you’ve ever thought, considered, or purchased dairy-free milk this will be a good post for you! I consider this information a bit of an emergency situation. Even if you’re not dairy-free, this info will help when you’re buying other ingredients on your shopping list.
Back to Basics with one of my favorite things – WILD RICE! If you haven’t introduced wild rice into your diet, it’s time. Wild Rice has a slightly nuttier flavor than traditional white or brown rice. I realize white & brown rice gets all the attention in the rice category but take a gander to the wild side of the grocery store next time you’re there. If you want the real deal, look for wild rice from Minnesota or Canada.
I’m definitely going hard on the crazy cat lady {but actually dog lady} status lately. I recently gave you 3 tips to raising a naughty puppy, into a sweetie dog. Then, celebrated my Bernice’s birthday, and now I’m dropping the dog food & treat bomb on you too. What can I say, no human kids to exploit, I work with what I have.
FOOD & ALCOHOL! This is a topic that I’m becoming more familiar with than I ever wanted to be. I always knew food & alcohol had a special place in everyone’s lives but had no idea the true significance.
Every time you turn on the TV I can promise you’ll see either FOOD or ALCOHOL or someone talking about one of those two things. You don’t realize it until you don’t do it anymore.
