I have Rapunzel hair.

And as much as I would love to explain how I planned it that way & have spent years & years growing it long, that’s not 100% the case.  My hair grows like a weed.  Having short hair isn’t an option because it would take way too much effort to maintain.  Long hair is easy for me, I go to the Salon approx twice a year.

I get asked about my hair more than anything else. You know?  Like instead of “where did you get those granny Sketcher slide ons?” people ask about how I did the bun in my hair today.  I don’t know why…

3 Long Hair Tips For The Lazy

1.Don’t wash it.  I don’t wash it because I’m lazy AF.  I know it’s almost trendy these days to say how many days in between washes you are for your hair.  “I haven’t washed my hair in 5 days!”.  Well, I haven’t washed my hair since I was a child.  Once a month my mom had to force me to wash it, and I don’t think she wanted to either but as a mother you feel like you have to enforce rules.  It takes an hour to brush out & another 3 days to air dry.  I see no interest.

We’re moving in a few weeks & I’m in the process of purging all of our furniture & starting over.  We adopted all the furniture & decor we currently have when we first got our apartment.

Well well well if you follow me on Instagram and happened to see my Insta Story, you’ll know that I tried making a YouTube video showing how to French braid hair. 

I can’t believe it’s already August.  I’m actually okay with that because, as much as the rest of Austin is loving to complain about the heat, I’m grateful it hasn’t been worse!  Sure, it’s been 106+ everyday but it’s August… in Texas.  Wouldn’t we be concerned if it was any other way?  Not to mention a few years ago we were 110+ for a record number of days before we saw August 1.

I feel like I haven’t shared my favorite things in forever!  We’re in the process of moving to a bigger space so my mind has been full on designing & decorating…  Bringing Wafiq to Ikea on a Friday evening after work, or even better a busy Saturday afternoon “just to look around” has been really pushing the limits of our relationship.

You know what they say, you can’t change a guy?  Don’t even try.  Well folks, I’ve done it, I’ve changed Wafiq.  From the guy that knew the name of the person working drive-thru at McDonald’s to the guy asking for Brussel Sprouts at dinner. 

I keep drooling over the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, mostly because it’s a fun hobby to engage in while I try to procrastinate on the long list of things I’m actually supposed to get done.

I love hearing people talk about what they’re passionate about, what makes them happy.  Whether that was a time in their life or an event they’re currently going through.  To see them get excited & feel comfortable enough opening up is exciting.  Conversations like these really get me going.

I was in my office last week and a friend came running through the doors looking for a guy to help them. (Of course, she was not looking for me in this situation, you’ll understand why later.)  She seemed a little more frantic than normal so I asked what happened.  She said there was a bug outside in the hallway.  I thought that was interesting because she’s not afraid of bugs. And she didn’t mention what type of bug. Are we talking spider, cockroach, beetle? In my almighty moment I told her I would go take a look – I’ve recently made truce with large spiders & felt I could at the very least monitor a cockroach while we wait for someone to get it, worst case scenario.

I’ve been reading beauty blogs & watching beauty YouTubers for a few years now.  They suck me in & before you know it I’m 10 videos deep with a long list of new products I NEED.  Then, I get to the store & notice the first item on my long list is .5oz of face cream that’s $90… and I have no money left for anything else.  Story of my life.

Like I’ve mentioned before, the one complaint I have about Amazon is the browsing options.    You can’t really get on Amazon & browse through it like you would at a store or another website.  You have to know what you’re looking for in order for Amazon to be useful.  That’s why I like sharing what I buy.

I’m not a huge climate change advocate but it does break my heart to see what mother earth is going through, especially with some of our wasteful decisions – so I try my best to do little things that will hopefully make a difference. Creating less trash sounds like a good start.
