3 Easy Tips to Raising Your New Puppy

You’re thinking about getting a puppy.  Now what?  I have you covered.  If you’re going to do this right, a puppy is a lot of work.  Whenever I see a cute puppy picture I do the opposite of a lot of people & let out a ginormous sigh.  Puppy’s look precious & cute, but they have the actual devil inside of them, disguised by soft fluffy fur.  & the devil that had 17 cups of coffee this AM.  I may have pushed the boundaries a little with my maturity & adopting Bernice because I don’t think I fully understood it would be like having a human 2 yr old.  The nice thing is, it doesn’t have to be out of control for very long if you train the puppy right.

Lucky for me, I made 3 decisions in the very beginning with Bernice that makes her the easy dog that I have now.

10 Empty Beauty Products I’m About To Reorder

This is my favorite post to find on YouTube & through blogs because anything empty must mean it’s TRUTH!  Whether someone is paid to post something or given free products, if they’ve used it until it’s empty – it must be good.

There are a few things that I’ve had to repurchase recently, so I thought it was perfect timing to share!

Current EMPTY Products I’ll Be Repurchasing:
Rose Water Spray: I’m actually very satisfied w the Rose Water spray from Trader Joe’s, but I hate the packaging; it shoots your face too directly.  I had an empty Mario Badescu Rose Water Spray bottle that I love, now I pour the Trader Joe’s Rose Water Spray in the that bottle, & continue to refill + use.  I love this stuff! I always use it after I’m done w my makeup, before bed when my face is clean, when I travel, throughout the day.  I used to think it was a gimmick, but I can’t go a day without it now.

Mario Badescu Cellular Lotion:  This face moisturizer goes a LONG way.  A pea sized amount covers your entire face leaving it moisturized.  It’s perfect for my skin because I have a drier face, but it might not work as well if you have very oily skin.  I love the amount of moisture it provides, the price point, the consistency, the packaging – everything!  This is actually the only thing I’ve been wearing on my face recently, with rose water spray on top.  Leaves an oily glow, which I strive for.

Nivea Essential Enriched Body Lotion:  Apparently this is the secret lotion that everyone knows about?? I recently emptied a huge bottle & had to buy another from Amazon.  I was bragging about how smooth it was making my skin to Wafiq, and he said “oh yeah, Nivea, it’s the best, everyone uses it.”  ?? Likeeee, you couldn’t have told me that 19 years ago bro?!

How To Go Backless & Low Cut w/Support!

Ting tangs are the subject for today! Wonderful ting tangs!  (But are they actually wonderful?  Thoughts?)

Whether or not you’re in denial, backless & low cut clothing have been all the rage for a few YEARS now.  I denied it for a long time, because I don’t have the option of going free willey w my chesties, but the envy has taken over!

I tried everything, over a period of years, to go backless.  It all started in Dubai with a beautiful backless gown I had to wear to a wedding.  I went hunting & found those silicone bras that stick to the front of your chest & don’t wrap around.  These are a decent option, you can find them: here.  BUT, they aren’t the best because they pull your tits down.  SoOoO if you’re ok sagging a little, they’ll work in a pinch, but not ideal.  Although I do keep them handy.

I’ve also transitioned to these Gel Petals from Target.   You’d be surprised how well these babies work, they really lift!  Stick on the bottom, pull up, stick to the top.  You’ll get it when you try it.  I actually really love these, also super cheap.  They’re never in stalk, so I know I’m not the only one that’s found them as a secret trick.  If you do find the Gel Petals, get a few so they’re always on hand!  The other nice part of these is they’ll work for any cut – backless, low cut, almost nude, whatever!  I also like them because they’re pretty much summer resistant.  Meaning, if you sweat, they’ll stick.  Even with these little guys, sometimes – you want more…

A Wardrobe Staple: The Blazer

What a perfect Tuesday thought!  BLAZERS.

I remember I had this New Years Eve moment w a red sequin dress & a black blazer that I was pretty happy about – but that was the extent of my Blazer history,  until recently.

A few reasons I’m bragging about this current wardrobe staple:

Professional:  I hate professional because I’m bad at it.  I’m always too tight, too short, cheap or uniform.  I prefer sparkle, shimmer, pink, fluff, short, tight, creative.  Without any effort, a blazer makes you look professional the second you throw it on, pretty much no matter what you’re wearing under it.

Easy AF:   I loooooove easy.  Love love love.  A Blazer WILL make you look put together w zero thought. No matter where you’re going or what you’re doing.

Smart:   People talk to me smarter when I’m wearing a blazer.  Almost like I’m a little more business intimidating?  Ha!  Try it, you’ll see.

Rich:  Maybe it’s the buisness-y look?  The idea that suites are expensive?  But even a cheaper blazer makes you look $$$.

Skinny: The structure of a blazer kills compared to a heavy jacket or baggy cardigan.  You gonna look gooooooood girl.

Grace:  Do you watch Grace & Frankie on Netflix yet?  I have major wardrobe envy from Grace; blazers, popped collars, beautiful scarves – they’ll all be staples soon.  Work in progress…

Versatile:  You can wear a sequin dress under a Blazer for a night out, or throw on your blazer over a shirt + pants for work.  Any place, any combo – a blazer keeps you looking put together.

Dating A Muslim Immigrant… During The “Muslim Ban”
Tis a sign of the times…  I love this post because, Wafiq.  What an interesting time it was.  We happened to just be finishing our own immigration journey during this time & learned TONS of immigration info we never knew before.  Which I think is why we were super comfortable.  Even though people were freaking out.  I remember we were happy, lucky & together 🙂

5 Rules For Acceptable Bragging

I love hearing people talk about what they’re passionate about, what makes them happy.  Whether that was a time in their life or an event they’re currently going through.  To see them get excited & feel comfortable enough opening up is exciting.  Conversations like these really get me going.

The Story Of: The Time I Found Out Aliens Are Real

I was in my office last week and a friend came running through the doors looking for a guy to help them. (Of course, she was not looking for me in this situation, you’ll understand why later.)  She seemed a little more frantic than normal so I asked what happened.  She said there was a bug outside in the hallway.  I thought that was interesting because she’s not afraid of bugs. And she didn’t mention what type of bug. Are we talking spider, cockroach, beetle? In my almighty moment I told her I would go take a look – I’ve recently made truce with large spiders & felt I could at the very least monitor a cockroach while we wait for someone to get it, worst case scenario.

Glamglow Gravitymud Mask – I Tried It For You

I’ve been reading beauty blogs & watching beauty YouTubers for a few years now.  They suck me in & before you know it I’m 10 videos deep with a long list of new products I NEED.  Then, I get to the store & notice the first item on my long list is .5oz of face cream that’s $90… and I have no money left for anything else.  Story of my life.

What I Miss About Living In Dubai

What an adventure that was! I’m in the U.S. now, have been for a while, and am FINALLY able to look back on the experience of living in Dubai and come to terms with the fact that I DO miss particular parts.
